Just doing some light reading before bed and found this.

Alright so in the manual under magic it states
"If a spell has multiple versions, you choose which version to use when you cast it. You don't have to prepare (or learn, in the case of a bard or sorcerer) a specific version of the spell."

Is this for spells like cure wounds (light, moderate, heavy etc)? If not then what kind of spell is it for?

So as far as I can tell from reading the section and digging around online, yes. Its for spells like cure wounds, bull's and mighty strength, summoning and anything that has a stronger and weaker version of itself.

The idea being, for example, that you prepare a healing spell and then later when you use it you determine how much "energy" to use when you do it.
